In the beginning…
Teri mostly grew up in Reno Nevada, with some time also spent in Canada, North Carolina, Florida and Northern California. She has been drawing as long as she can remember. Unsure of how to make a career out of drawing, she began studying computer science and programing at the University of Nevada, Reno. One day in the school library she came across a catalogue for an art college, and could hardly believe the possibilities. She quite her studies at UNR to work and save, then moved to the Los Angeles area. After taking more art classes at night to build a portfolio, she was accepted into Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, Ca. Teri completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in 1992.
The business of art…
After graduating, Teri started out as a freelance illustrator for newspapers and magazines, receiving the “San Diego Press Club” award for best illustration in 1994. In 1993 she also took on an in-house job, and started working for Phillips Interactive Media. She created backgrounds for games, and eventually became the Production Designer on an animated interactive game called "Treasures of Oz". After "Treasures of Oz" was completed, Teri took time to enjoy her sons little years, in addition to taking on occasional freelance work with companies such as Canon USA, Club Disney, Disney Interactive, Mattel, and Houghton Mifflin Publishing Company.
Now and in the studio…
Teri's son has grown past the little years, and she is now spending more time in her art studio than ever before. She has developed a new illustrative style through drawing and experimenting with different types of media, and continues to take on freelance illustration work.
She is currently creating imaginative and beautiful illustrations appropriate for children publications and more, using watercolor, colored pencil, and gouache. When not creating art, her greatest pleasures are spent with family and friends enjoying movies, social gatherings, nature, and traveling. She resides in Southern California with her husband, son, and their furry friends, a dog named Nikita, and two cats named Lenny Penny and Mr. Moo.

Teri is currently painting with traditional mediums, however she has extensive experience painting and creationg digitally. Digital painting tools Teri uses include, Corel Painter, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator. Examples of her digital work can be found here.
